I build AI-integrated software.

The hard part of building software has never been the code. It's deciding what to build, in what order, and what to leave out.

About

Engineering that holds up under review.

I'm Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at ZyFolks, where I lead engineering across AI-integrated products, custom software and blockchain infrastructure. I own technology strategy, architecture and engineering standards — designing systems before they're written and holding the bar on how work ships.

Before this I spent four years as a technical lead in product engineering. I owned the architecture and release cycle of Desklog, a multi-tenant time-tracking SaaS platform — living with every decision on backward compatibility, performance and technical debt — while setting the standards for how software was designed, reviewed and released across client work.

Before that, I was a mechanical engineer who taught himself to write software. That route is the reason I care less about the stack than about the outcome.

Much of the job is judgement rather than code: choosing technologies that will still make sense in three years, and being willing to argue a feature out of scope when it won't earn its cost.

What I do

Four things I'm actually good at.

Where I spend my time, and what teams tend to bring me in for.

Architecture & Systems Design

Designing systems before they're written — data models, service boundaries, failure modes and the migration path out. The goal is a system that is still a good idea in three years, and an architecture the next engineer can read without a handover call.

AI-Integrated Software

Putting AI where it earns its place: retrieval, automation and agent workflows built into real products rather than bolted on for the demo. Careful about evaluation, cost and the failure cases, because a model that is wrong confidently is worse than no feature at all.

SaaS Platforms

Multi-tenant products built to be lived with — tenant isolation, performance under load, release pipelines and backward compatibility you don't have to apologise for. Four years owning a production SaaS platform end to end taught me what that costs.

Blockchain Engineering

Contracts, integrations and decentralised applications, with a clear head about when a chain is genuinely the right primitive and when a database would do the job better. Security review and audit-readiness are part of the build, not a phase after it.
